The Advances in Decision Sciences Conference 2026 (ADSC2026) was successfully held on 10 July 2026 at Hong Kong Shue Yan University, bringing together scholars, researchers, and students from Hong Kong, Mainland China, and overseas institutions to share the latest developments in economics, finance, decision sciences, and related interdisciplinary fields. The conference was co-organized by Scientific and Business World and the Business, Economic and Public Policy Research Centre, Department of Economics and Finance, Hong Kong Shue Yan University.

The conference commenced with welcome remarks, followed by an opening speech delivered by Prof. Alan Wing-Keung Wong, Senior Co-Editor-in-Chief and Managing Editor of Advances in Decision Sciences and Chair Professor of Finance at Asia University. His speech highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary research in addressing the increasingly complex challenges faced by modern economies and societies.

Throughout the day, participants engaged in four thematic sessions covering a broad range of contemporary research topics. The first session, Money, Banking, and Efficiency Analysis, explored issues such as liquidity traps, banking efficiency, industrial productivity measurement, and efficiency modeling methodologies. These presentations provided valuable insights into financial systems and operational efficiency in a rapidly evolving economic environment.

The second session, Quantitative Finance and Economics, featured research on exchange rate dynamics, option pricing, credit rating accuracy, and the resilience of Hong Kong's taxi industry in the post-pandemic era. The session generated lively discussions among presenters and attendees, reflecting the growing importance of quantitative approaches in understanding economic and financial phenomena.

Following the lunch networking session, the afternoon programme continued with Economics in the Digital Age. Presenters examined topics including digital transformation, enterprise innovation, online and offline consumer behavior, housing inequality, and the impact of digitalization on housing markets. These studies highlighted the profound influence of technology on economic development and public policy.

The final session, Trust, Networks, and Cities, addressed emerging topics such as urban spatial economics, blockchain applications in charitable organizations, and industrial agglomeration and congestion. The diversity of topics reflected the increasingly interdisciplinary nature of decision sciences research and demonstrated how analytical tools can be applied across different areas of study.

Beyond the academic presentations, ADSC2026 provided an excellent platform for networking and collaboration. Participants exchanged ideas, explored potential research partnerships, and discussed future directions in decision sciences and related disciplines. The active engagement during question-and-answer sessions and informal discussions underscored the conference's role in fostering an international research community.
