Mr. MAI Chulin, PhD student, Department of Economics and Finance, has presented a paper "Measuring the Technical Efficiency of Firms with Domestic Sales and Exports: Revisiting China’s Accession to WTO" in Singapore Economic Review Conference, held from July 31st to August 2nd in Singapore.

Hundreds of researchers from the world attended this conference. This paper found that adopting multiple outputs is better than one output in analysing the production behaviour of firms. It also discovered a new type of firms.

In the same conference, Professor LI Sung Ko, Department of Economics and Finance, also presented a paper "Selecting a Proxy for Capital in Chinese Manufacturing Industries by the Goodness-of-fit Approach in DEA" which enhances the method of model selection in Data Envelopment Analysis.
