FishGuard, the student entrepreneurship team nominated by Hong Kong Shue Yan University for the Cyberport University Partnership Programme (CUPP) this year, has successfully gained admission. The team consists of four Year 3 FinTech students and one Year 3 ADS student.
Under the dedicated mentorship of Dr. Philip Lee, Director of the BCom (Hons) in Financial Technology programme and Associate Director of the Teaching and Learning Development Office, the students successfully navigated the Cyberport Entrepreneurship Advisory Group Vetting process, which included written tests and interviews.
Alongside 19 teams from other local universities, our students will participate in the programme and attend an entrepreneurship boot camp this summer at Draper University in Silicon Valley, where they will compete for a grant of HKD 100,000 for their entrepreneurship projects.
Dr. Philip Lee emphasized that this is the first time HKSYU has nominated students for the CUPP. HKSYU conducted a rigorous screening process to nominate the most qualified team for the CUPP. The impressive admission results indicate the significant entrepreneurial potential of our students. HKSYU will continue to support students in developing practical problem-solving skills and fostering an entrepreneurial spirit.
