Hong Kong Shue Yan University Scholars Contribute to China World Economy Society Conference 2024

Dr. Yeung Wai Man Raymond and Mr. Mai Chulin Michael from the Economics and Finance Department at Hong Kong Shue Yan University participated in the 2024 China World Economy Society Annual Conference and Youth Forum held at Guangzhou Business School from November 15 to 17.
香港樹仁大學經濟與金融系助理教授楊偉文博士和博士生麥楚林先生參加了11月15日至17日在廣州商學院舉行的2024年中國世界經濟學會年會暨青年論壇。
The conference, titled "Technology, Finance, Geopolitics, and the Future of the World Economy," brought together over 500 leading experts and scholars from nearly 90 universities and research institutions across the country. The conference also saw an unprecedented number of paper submissions, with over 700 contributions from scholars at home and abroad - a new record for the China World Economy Society. After a rigorous review process by a panel of experts, more than 200 papers were selected for presentation at the forum, showcasing cutting-edge research in the field of world economics.
這次會議以「科技、金融、地緣政治與世界經濟的未來」為主題，匯集了來自全國包括港澳地區，近90所大學和研究機構的500餘位專家學者。是次會議的論文投稿數量空前高漲，國內外學者投稿超過700篇，創造中國世界經濟學會年會投稿論文的新紀錄，經過專家小組嚴格評審，最後選出200餘篇論文在論壇上發表，分享了對世界經濟學領域的前沿研究成果。
Dr. YEUNG Wai Man Raymond presented "The Relationship Between Monetary Power and Monetary Strategy: An Initial Exploration of Defense Monetary Economics." His presentation shed light on the intricate dynamics between monetary policy, national security, and global economic strategies. Dr. YEUNG's insights provided a fresh perspective on how currency power can be leveraged in the realm of defense economics.
楊偉文博士發表題目為「貨幣實力與貨幣戰略的關係：國防貨幣經濟學初探」。楊博士的論文演講揭示了貨幣政策、國家安全和全球經濟戰略之間錯綜複雜的動態關係，為如何在國防經濟學領域中利用貨幣力量提供了全新的視野。
Mr. MAI Chulin Michael, in collaboration with Prof. LI Sung Ko, discussed "Measuring the Technical Efficiency of Firms in Multi-output Industries: Revisiting China's Accession to WTO." Their paper analyzed the impact of China's accession to the WTO on the technical efficiency of firms under multi-output measurement, offering new insights into the evolution of China's economic integration.
麥楚林先生與李祟高教授合作的論文題目為「Measuring the Technical Efficiency of Firms in Multi-output Industries: Revisiting China's Accession to WTO 」(多項類目產出行業企業的技術效率衡量：重新審視中國加入世貿組織)。他們的論文分析了多項類目產品產出下對中國加入世貿組織 (WTO) 導致企業技術效率的影響，為中國經濟的演變提供了新的見解。
The China World Economy Society Annual Conference provides a platform for leading economists to discuss and exchange insights on international economic conditions and innovative ideas. Presentations by Dr. Yeung and Mr. Mai enriched academic discussions, enabling participants to understand the challenges and opportunities within the evolving global economic landscape.
